Waterlily Workshop 101
This workshop is the Cloisonne 101 of the Merry-Lee Rae Online Workshops. Whether you have little experience or are a seasoned enamelist, you will want to start with this to develop a strong technical foundation and to develop a common background to help you move on to the more advanced offerings. There is a Facebook Group associated with this class for community support and cheerleading. Here you will get additional tips and the opportunity for Merry-Lee to mentor you through your progress.

Simone Kitty
Whether you have a little experience or are a seasoned enamelist, you will find this light-hearted course to be valuable to develop a strong technical foundation. Although the Waterlily Workshop is the Cloisonne 101 of the Merry-Lee Rae Online Workshops, you will find that Simone is also a good place to start your journey in Merry-Lee's Classroom. This Course includes a brief introduction to the use of Mason Stains for penwork and stippling to create a furlike effect. It is also a good introduction to complex shapes for cloisonne: Complete from blank making to the special treatment during grinding. There is a Facebook Group associated with this class for community support and cheerleading. There you will get additional tips and the opportunity for Merry-Lee to mentor you through your progress.

Opalescent Wisteria
This is an advanced workshop, you will need to have completed Waterlily Workshop 101 or have been a prior student in my classroom in California. The achievement of the perfect opalescent outcome is tricky and when it goes wrong, it is a very homely enamel. In this course, you may find the road to success to be somewhat tedious but I invite you to transform your thinking about the journey by understanding that it is like the memorization of a Dance, or of an incantation to conjure the Magic that has previously alluded you. Once you know the Dance, your timing at the kiln becomes focused and second nature. The Science of the True Opalescent is a book to be opened so that you may use it to create enduring brilliance in your work. The special pieces that will result will be spectacular. I have practiced this Dance for over forty years. Settle down into your workspace and I will share the steps that unlock the Magic. Exploring Skintones
This course includes a brief introduction to Design Strategy for Enamel. Also covered is the finer points of mixing colors and graduation of colors for more refined shading. Techniques shown here are applicable to all accomplished cloisonné work extending beyond believable skin tones. For the First Time- I will be offering this class as a Mentored Experience. After completing the course content, I will ask you to design a Skin Tone Study and we will work through a "Homework" project from drawing to translating to enamel to the enameling process and approach on your own design. Mason Stain Magic with Darci Shea
This is such an exciting moment for me to be able to offer this extraordinary workshop.
Darci Shea Bogdan is a once in a lifetime student and I was lucky enough to be able to participate in her Journey. When she first came to me to learn cloisonne, she was already an amazing illustrator. It was a thrill to me to help guide her into the world of enameling and I knew that she possessed a talent and determination that could take her anywhere she decided to go. I also knew that the piece of her puzzle that I was unable to provide was something that Martha Banyas was the answer to, and in March 2020 two worlds collided and Darci had everything she needed to take my technique and marry it to Martha's technique to create something that no one had been able to do in quite this way before. The results are spectacular and it is my belief that the world of cloisonne will transform because of it. Be the first to learn from the originator how Darci creates Magic!
